WMO retires Laura and other hurricane names
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - In a tweet made on Wednesday, the World Meteorological Organizations said the hurricane committee would be retiring the names Dorian, Eta, Iota and Laura.
They said the names would be removed from the lists of Atlantic names due to the destruction these storms caused.
The WMO also announced that the Greek alphabet would be retired as it was confusing and distracting.
