Sheletta Brundidge featured on Discovery Plus show “Family Dinner”
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A former KPLC-TV employee is getting some national attention with her appearance on a new network TV series. Sheletta Smith Brundidge and her family will be featured this week on Andrew Zimmern’s new show, “Family Dinner.”
Three of the Brundidge’s four children are on the autism spectrum, but with therapy, they’re thriving.
From their Minnesota home, Sheletta and her husband Shawn will be showing Andrew what Louisiana cooking is all about.
“You know we are talking so much about differences right now,” says Sheletta. “Who is what color? What part of the country do you come from? Where you grew up? Where you work? The one thing we all gotta do is eat. The one thing we all have to do is have dinner together as a family. So this show is an opportunity to showcase our similarities.”
During the show’s production, Sheletta even served up some boudin from market basket.
You’ll be able to see Sheletta’s story streaming on Discovery Plus this week.
