LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Yes, you read that correctly. An NFC Wildcard game will be aired on the same station you catch Spongebob.
Viewers can still catch the game on CBS as the Bears travel to New Orleans, however, if your looking for a kid-friendly broadcast that allows parents to watch the game with their children, well - tune in to Nickelodeon.
Brian Robbins, President of ViacomCBS Kids & Family Entertainment says they hope the move will elevate the “thrill” of the game.
“Our game plan is to make sure the NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon definitely lives up to its name by infusing the telecast with Nick’s sensibility of surprise and fun at almost every turn,” Robbins said. “We’re incredibly proud to team up with CBS Sports and the NFL to elevate the thrill of this game for kids and families to enjoy together.”
Unfortunately for parents, the Bears vs. Saints game is the only game being aired on Nickelodeon as CBS owns the rights to the game, and ViacomCBS owns both CBS and Nickelodeon.
Kickoff is at 3:40 p.m. CT on Jan. 10, and now, with the additional choice of Nickelodeon, I expect many viewers to test the “thrill” of the new broadcast.
