LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - After such success in 2020 Noski Lafleur has set high goals for the new year.
“My first goal is to win a MAC championship with that team because I know how hard that we work,” said senior safey Alvinoski Lafleur. “I know those guys deserve it, so that’s one big one that I was to accomplish with those guys before I leave.”
The senior DB is coming off his most productive year with the eagles. He was awarded first team honors while also being one of the nation’s top 10 red zone stop specialist. His best performance came against in state rival Central Michigan.
“We did a very good job of preparing for that game and I was in a lot of good positions to make plays that game” Lafleur said.
LaFleur says his family inspires him to keep going.
“I felt the need that like if I played the sport I could help them in some ways so that really inspired me to keep going and not ever stop, because I knew there was a way that I could help my family” said Lafleur.
And he’s not just focused on his athletic performance, he says he tries to set an example for those who look up to him.
“Some people can be leaders on the field, but it’s hard to be a leader off the field because I mean there’s so many distractions in the world but I feel like I gotta keep my head on straight because it’s a lot of people that look up to me” Lafleur added.
Lafleur plans play at Eastern Michigan for one more year and is thankful for the opportunity.
“This was supposed to be my last season, but it’s a blessing to have another opportunity to play with those guys and I just feel like I have to take advantage and I think it’s going to be really exciting to compete for a MAC championship with them and I just pray that the best happens for us” said Lafleur.
