LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - “You know these guys are chomping at the bit ready to develop as a team. We certainly have a long way to go, but we’re taking the steps in the right direction,” said McNeese head coach Frank Wilson.
It’s taken some time, but finally, McNeese coach Frank Wilson has his Pokes on the football field.
“It’s a big deal for us and we’re thankful” Wilson said. “We’re thankful for this day that we had today I think one that was typical in the sense of a first day. Was by no means perfect, but a lot of quality work done in this day that we can build upon.”
The Cowboys will have plenty of competition and a wide-open depth chart coming into the spring season as the team replaces three first-team All-Southland players who opted to transfer this offseason.
“I thought guys ran around and tried to make plays” Wilson added. “I though the enthusiasm was high, I thought we took care of one another as a Football team we didn’t compromise teammate even in the midst of high competition.”
