Three arrested in connection with drowning of 18-month-old inside Harrah’s hotel room

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department arrested three people in connection with the drowning death of an 18-month-old inside a Harrah’s hotel room.

Police say on Sunday, Jan, 3. the toddler was found unresponsive in the bathtub.

The child was taken to the hospital where he later died, according to the NOPD.

Police say another child, a 3-year-old, was also inside of the hotel room and had bruises and scratches to his body.

The parents and a relative were inside of the room at the time.

The coroner’s office determined the death of the 18-month-old child to be a drowning, but the manner of death is unclassified at this time, according to NOPD.

All three adults were arrested for cruelty to a juvenile.
