BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - With the NFL and college football season all but over, minus the playoffs and National Championship game, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron will begin the interview process to replace half of the on-field coaching staff.

Among those positions are the offensive and defensive coordinators once held by Steve Ensigmer and Bo Pelini.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel, LSU is expected to meet with Carolina Panthers quarterback coach Jake Peetz and offensive assistant DJ Mangas.

Mangas is a familiar name to LSU. He served on the LSU 2019 National Championship team as an analyst under Joe Brady.

Cincinnati Bearcats defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman is also set to interview with LSU later in the week.

Freeman helped lead the Bearcats to the Peach Bowl and the Cincinnati defense ranked in the top 15 nationally in five categories, including the top in scoring (allowing 16 points per game) and total defense (allowing 314.4 yards per game).
