LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - An alternate ferry has been moved from Plaquemine Parish to serve Cameron Parish until repairs on the route’s normal ferry are complete, according to DOTD.

While the alternate ferry is in service, any vehicle longer than 50 feet will need to detour and can use 1-10. The boat launch on the west side of the Calcasieu River, adjacent to the ferry landing, will also be closed to ensure the ferry’s safety while it is in service.
