LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Election Day is upon us, but unlike Nov. 3, every candidate is in the midst of a runoff.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 8 p.m.

In addition to the runoffs, there was one constitutional amendment and several taxes on the ballot.

District Judge 33rd Judicial District Court, Division A

CA NO. 1 (ACT 10, 2nd ES - SB 44) -- Allows out-of-state resident to serve on a public postsecondary education board of supervisors

· Do you support an amendment to allow the governor to appoint a person who resides out-of-state to serve as an at-large member of a public postsecondary education board of supervisors? (Amends Article VIII, Sections 6(B)(1), 7(B)(1), and 7.1(B)(1))

School District Ward One -- 14.22 Mills Continuation - SB - 10 Yrs.

· Shall School District Ward One of Allen Parish, Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to continue to levy and collect a special tax of fourteen and twenty-two hundredths (14.22) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $141,785.97 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2022 and ending with the year 2031, for the purpose of constructing, improving, operating and maintaining public school houses and buildings in the District, said millage to represent a one and seventy-five hundredths of a mill (1.75) increase (due to reappraisal) over the 12.47 mills tax authorized to be levied through the year 2021 pursuant to an election held on March 27, 2010?

School District No. 1 -- 24.66 Mills Renewal - SB - 10 Yrs.

· Shall School District No. 1 of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to renew the levy and collection of a special tax of twenty-four and sixty-six hundredths (24.66) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $68,045.57 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining public school houses and buildings in the District?

School District No. 4 -- 12.07 Mills Renewal - SB - 10 Yrs.

· Shall School District No. 4 of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to renew the levy and collection of a special tax of twelve and seven hundredths (12.07) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $64,542.51 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining public school houses and buildings in the District?

School District No. 5 -- 12.63 Mills Renewal - SB - 10 Yrs.

· Shall School District No. 5 of the Parish of Allen, State of Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to renew the levy and collection of a special tax of twelve and sixty-three hundredths (12.63) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $723,726.03 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2021 and ending with the year 2030, for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining public school houses and buildings in the District?

Fire Protection District No. 2 -- 9 Mills Renewal - BOC - 10 Yrs.
