LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Two 18-year olds have been arrested following three drive-by shootings in Lake Charles, according to officials with the Lake Charles Police Department.

Capt. Kevin Kirkum says Tyrell Byrd, 18, of Lake Charles, and Kiynen Davon Chieves, 18, of Lake Charles were arrested on Nov. 28, 2020.

The first drive-by shooting that authorities say has been linked to the suspects happened near the corner of St. Mary Drive and North Shattuck Street on Nov. 21. The residence that was shot at had six people inside during the shooting, Kirkum says.

The second drive-by happened near the corner of N. Franklin Street and Jackson Street on Nov. 24, according to Kirkum. During this shooting, three people were inside the residence including a young child. The third drive-by was at the same residence as the second shooting and occurred on Nov. 27.

Both Byrd and Chieves were booked for assault by drive-by shooting, and nine counts of attempted second-degree murder. Their bonds have been set at $750,000 apiece.
