LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Many churches and organizations in SWLA came together on Saturday night to hold a Hope Rally filled with worship, fellowship and of course hope.
The rally took place in the parking lot of Church of the King Lake Charles ( 2145 Oak Park Blvd.) on Saturday evening, Nov. 14.
Kenzie Kober, a native of SWLA, traveled from California in hopes of bringing the community together in the midst of all the turmoil that many are facing.
She explained that since coming back to SWLA, many business and organizations have shown their support for her cause. Even during the course of the week, she and students from Sulphur High went out into the community to be a blessing to those that needed it the most.
Mayor Nic Hunter was also in attendance at the rally where he got up to speak and give words of encouragement to the community as they came out for a good cause.
At one point, all in attendance were encouraged to pray over the mayor as he has led the Lake Area and continues to lead.
