NWS confirms EF-2 tornado traveled through Vernon Wednesday

VERNON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-2 tornado traveled through Vernon Parish Wednesday.

The tornado traveled 36.95 miles on a path from Jasper, Texas, to Rosepine, Louisiana, according to preliminary information from the National Weather Service.

It had estimated peak winds of 130 miles per hour and a max width of 600 yards.
