LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Lake Charles Police Department has made an arrest in the fatal double shooting on Tulip Street from yesterday evening.

Detectives arrested 52-year-old Michael Andre Thomas of Lake Charles, on the charges of attempted second degree murder and second degree murder.

Thomas is booked in the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility. His bond is set at $650,000.

One victim died following the fatal double shooting near Tulip Street and 7th Avenue on Jan. 7, according to the Lake Charles Police Department.

Sgt. Brenda Desormeaux says police responded to the shooting around 6:26 p.m.

When police arrived they found two victims, one male and one female. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The male victim, Timothy Napoleon, 52, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say there have been no arrests at this time and that the investigation is ongoing.

The Lead Investigator is Sergeant John Russell.
