Former teacher facing another count of rape

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A former Lake Charles teacher is facing another count of rape.
Deidra Smith, a former Lake Charles Charter Academy educator, is accused of raping a 10-year-old.
She was previously arrested in Calcasieu on 10 counts of first-degree rape. The new count is out of Beauregard Parish.
Beauregard authorities say that Smith crossed parish lines with the same victim in April of this year.
