BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU football comes in at No. 6 for the AP preseason poll.

The Tigers have been ranked in the AP preseason poll in 19 consecutive seasons. This is the first time since the 2016 season that the Tigers are ranked in the top 10.

“I didn’t even know they had rankings out,” said senior offensive lineman Adrian Magee. “We don’t worry about the rankings. We’re just playing our ball, but since you said it, not satisfied with it. We should be in the top three. We’ll just have to improve when season gets here.”

“As far as you guys, I get you guys you have a job, whether you say anything good or bad about us, we’re not really worried about it," added sophomore outside linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson. “We know inside and internally what we can do. We know how we control things and we know no matter what the outside saying, they don’t have control over how we play our game and what we can and can’t do.”

“I think it’s going to be a great game," explained junior tight end Thaddeus Moss. “We control everything. Nobody, it doesn’t matter who we’re playing, where we’re playing, or when we’re playing. We control everything, so we can be as we want to be.”

LSU finds itself currently ranked in the same spot it finished last season. In 2018, LSU was ranked No. 25 in the AP preseason poll and then climbed up to No. 4.
