Second person arrested in connection to shooting that injured 5-year-old
29-year-old Malcon Levy (L) has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a 5-year-old child. Police are searching for 34-year-old Jessica Levy (R).

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - A second person has been arrested in connection to the shooting of a 5-year-old.

The shooting happened July 3 in the 7000 block of Bundy Road.

Jessica Levy, 34, was being sought by police. She turned herself to authorities on July 6 in connection with the investigation. She was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where she was booked for negligent injuring and obstruction of justice.

New Orleans Police previously arrested Malcolm Levy, 29.

On July 3, police were contacted about a 5-year-old child who arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. The bullet traveled through the child’s arm and became lodged in the child’s abdomen.

Through the investigation, police determined that a bullet was fired from the neighboring apartment by Malcom Levy. Police believe the bullet traveled through the wall and struck the child.

Levy was arrested at the apartment without incident and booked with negligent injuring and obstruction of justice.
