LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Through the rest for the afternoon expect clouds to stick around as the cold front continues to move through. We should see a clear up through the evening hours leading to partly cloudy skies overnight. Depending on when skies clear we could see temperatures fall even colder than the forecast low in the mid 40s. We’ll also see those winds pretty gusty as the cold front ushers in cooler and drier air.
Starting on the week with a mix of sun and clouds through the majority of Monday as the cold front that passed through yesterday stalls just to our southeast. Temperatures reach the low 60s through the afternoon. As winds gradually turn back out of the south we’ll see cloud cover and rain chances increase through the evening hours. With increased cloud cover overnight temperatures won’t fall as much only dropping into the 50s.
Overnight we see increased rain chances lingering through the morning hours. We could even hear a rumble or two of thunder. This rain chances stick around through much of the next week as we see increased rain chances Wednesday through the weekend.
Temperatures for the next week are up and down as several cold fronts pass through the area and stall out. We do see a gradual warming trend Wednesday into the weekend reaching the mid 70s by Saturday. That’s when our next cold front moves through and drops temperatures into the upper 60s to start the next week.
