LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that in an attempt to better serve the public the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center in Sulphur will now be equipped to accept payments for traffic citations.
“I felt like we needed to add an option for the public to be able to pay their traffic fees on the west side of the river instead of having to drive to Lake Charles. With all the traffic congestion problems we are currently having in the parish, I wanted to make it more convenient for the community,” says Sheriff Tony Mancuso. “We will still continue to collect citation fees at the CPSO Tax Office in Lake Charles; the Sulphur office will be another alternative for people.”
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center in Sulphur is currently located at 1017 Beglis Parkway. The Sheriff’s Office says this is the office’s temporary location while renovations are being done to their office on Cypress Street.
Citizens who wish to pay their citations will need to bring the citation with them along with a photo ID. The Sheriff’s Office says that payments can be made with cashier’s check, money order, or with a credit card. The office will be accepting payments Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
