School bus drivers needed in Calcasieu Parish

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish School Board says school bus drivers are needed and it will hold a series of certification classes according to a news release. The classes begin Monday, Jan. 28.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a DOTD physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.

The certification class schedule is included below:

• Jan. 28 – Jan. 31 from 5-9 p.m.

• Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

• Feb. 4 – Feb. 7 from 5-9 p.m.

All classes will be held in the CPSB Transportation Training Room located at 3310 Broad Street in Lake Charles.

Any questions regarding these certification classes can be directed to the Transportation Department at 337-217-4330. Those wishing to apply to become a bus driver can visit the CPSB Personnel Department also located at 3310 Broad Street.
