LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A wind advisory continues until 9 pm today as gusts reach 35 mph and winds stay steady between 20-25 mph behind the cold front. This cold front drops temperatures near the freezing mark overnight. With winds continuing out of the north overnight expect it to feel more like the 20s as you leave the house tomorrow morning.
Sun will be back for our Sunday along with those chilly temperatures. We only rebound to 50 degrees through the afternoon. Overnight we’ll cool off into the 30s again, but thankfully that wind is expected to die down so we won’t feel any colder than 30.
We’ll quickly see temperatures rebound to start the week getting into the 60s Monday with plentiful sunshine in the morning. Through the afternoon and evening hours clouds begin to build ahead of our next chance for rain.
That rain chances builds in during the day on Tuesday as our next cold front approaches the area. This increases rain chances overnight and into Wednesday. We’ll see those cooler temperatures arrive on Wednesday with a cold and rainy day expected. Overnight lows do begin to cool off getting back into the 30s overnight.
We’ll see a dry end to the week with temperatures moderating out into the 50s as we see a gradual increase ahead of our next rain chance late next weekend.
