WESTLAKE, LA (KPLC) - Two Westlake residents were arrested for multiple package thefts in the area, according to Chief of Police Chris Wilrye.
Westlake Police received a complaint from a victim who said his security system notified him that someone was on his property. The victim watched his surveillance video and noticed some packages were taken. A detailed description of the suspect and vehicle were given to police.
Later the victim spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one at his home on Guillory Street in Westlake, said Wilrye. Officers stopped and searched the vehicle. According to Wilrye, the stolen packages were located inside as well as additional packages from another theft.
Harley Higginbotham was charged with 2 counts of simple burglary, 2 counts of theft, 2 counts of criminal trespass, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
Harley Lovett was charged with 2 counts of simple burglary, 2 counts of theft, 2 counts of criminal trespass, and 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
