11:06 p.m. - Secretary of State appears to be going into a runoff between Kyle Ardoin and ‘Gwen’ Collins-Greenup.
10:50 p.m. - Oberlin’s current Mayor kept his seat tonight. Incumbent candidate Joseph ‘Moochie’ Manuel has won the Oberlin Mayoral race against Marilyn G. Robinson by 51 percent (or 385 votes to 377).
Chief of Police Grady Haynes Grady K. Haynes defended his seat and won the race for Oberlin against candidates Wayne Courville and Darrell ‘Fig’ Pitre. Haynes had 57 percent (or 442 votes).
10:39 p.m. - In Iowa, Mayor Carol Ponthieux was unseated. Paul Hesse (no party), who had 39 percent (or 374 votes), and and Errol Marshall (DEM), who had 24 percent (or 227 votes), will be in a runoff in the Dec. 8 election.

10:31 p.m. - In the 4th Congressional District, Republican Mike Johnson won a second term with 64 percent (or 139,307 votes).
10:20 p.m. - Calcasieu and Cameron vote to allow fantasy sports betting, four parishes vote the measure down. More HERE.
10:09 p.m. - In DeQuincy, Riley Smith was just shy of the 50 percent-plus-one-vote needed to win the election. Smith had 49 percent (or 533 votes) and will be in a runoff with Heather Royer (REP), who had 27 percent (or 284 votes).
10:07 p.m. - Stuart Moss (REP) won the 33rd State Representative Seat, with 54 percent of the vote (or 6,795 votes). Moss, a former Sulphur city councilman, defeated Les Farnum (DEM), who had 39 percent (or 4,883) votes and Teri Johnson (DEM), who had 7 percent (or 912 votes).
9:57 p.m. - With 95 percent reporting, It appears that Clay Higgins is a lock to retain his 3rd Congressional seat.
9:46 p.m. - Chris Wilrye wins a second term as Westlake mayor.
9:45 p.m. - Nathan Keller and Vic Salvador are headed for a runoff in the Dec. 8 election. Both had 24 percent of the vote.
9:11 p.m. - Nathan Keller is now leading the race for City Marshal in the city of Lake Charles with 28% of the vote. “Vic” Salvador has 10% of the vote with 37 of 62 precincts reporting.
9:07 p.m. - A proposition that would allow fantasy sports betting is now taking the lead in Calcasieu Parish. Currently all constitutional amendments are trending ‘yes’ across the state.
9:00 p.m. - Currently Southwest Louisiana is voting in favor of all Constitutional Amendments. There are still many precincts awaiting totals.
8:51 p.m. - In the race for Secretary of State, 462 of 3910 precincts are reporting. Kyle Ardoin is leading with 24% of the vote. “Gwen” Collins-Greenup has 20% of the vote.
8:47 p.m. - With 69 of 567 precincts reporting, Clay Higgins is winning the race for U.S. Representative 3rd Congressional District. Mildred “Mimi” Methvin follows with 15%.
8:41 p.m. - With 7 of 62 precincts reporting in Calcasieu Parish, Vic Salvador leads the race for City Marshal with 25% of the vote. Nathan Keller currently has 23% of the vote.
8:35 p.m. - In Allen Parish, all absentee ballots are in. Currently it’s a close race for Mayor of the town of Oberlin. Joseph “Moochie” Manuel leads 53% with Marilyn G. Robinson earning 46% of the vote.
8:30 p.m. - 100% of absentee ballots have been counted in Jefferson Davis Parish. At this hour Roger D. “Tony” Laughlin is leading the race for Mayor in the town of Elton with 40% of the vote. Mike Pierrotti follows with 27%.
Right now across the state 60% of voters voted ‘yes’ for Constitutional Amendment 2 requiring a unanimous jury for noncapital felonies.
Currently all parishes across Southwest Louisiana are voting down the proposition authorizing fantasy sports contests.
8:20 p.m. - 100% of absentee ballots have been counted in Calcasieu Parish. Right now Riley Smith is leading the race for Mayor of DeQuincy with 56% of the vote. Paul Hesse is leading the Mayor of Iowa race with 34% of the vote. Christopher James Wilrye is leading the race for Westlake Police Chief with 79% of the vote. With only absentee ballots counted, the proposition authorizing fantasy sports contests in Calcasieu Parish is failing with 52% of voters saying ‘no’ and 47% saying ‘yes’.
8 p.m. - The polls have closed. Early results should be posted any minute. Those will be followed by today’s results as they are reported by precincts.
Absentee votes are beginning to be counted. Currently with 3 of 10 parishes reporting absentee ballots, Republican Clay Higgins leads the U.S. Representative 3rd Congressional District race 66.3%. Democrat Mimi Methvin follows with 12.8%. These are very early returns.
