EF-1 tornado confirmed near Iowa

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -The National Weather Service survey team has confirmed an EF-1 tornado southwest of Iowa.

The NWS said that a tornado formed north of Nick Martone Road and moved to the southeast. The tornado crossed the road where it damaged two outbuildings. The tornado then dissipated in a field south of Nick Martone Road.

Storm teams have been surveying damages from Wednesday night’s storms.

NWS also confirmed two other tornadoes in Calcasieu Parish, one in Carlyss and one in Lake Charles.

Another tornado was confirmed near Bundick Lake in Beauregard Parish.

More surveys are still ongoing.
