We are a volunteer led organization whose mission is to educate individuals about emergency situations and provide aid in time of disaster . The American Red Cross is not supported by the government, but depends on funding from Americans who realize the need for helping. In Southwest Louisiana we serve Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis Parishes. We care about our neighbors!

Among the services offered by the American Red Cross of Southwest Louisiana are emergency services during fires and man made or natural disasters, 24- hour emergency communication for military personnel and their immediate families, and community education presentations. In just the year 2007, we provided over 414 persons with aid during single-family fires, and helped 324 families obtain contact with a serviceman. The American Red Cross of Southwest Louisiana also provides training in CPR, first aid, aquatics and water safety and babysitting training. in 2007 we trained 17,719 individuals in preparedness courses. 103 new lifeguards were certified, 656 people received instruction on water safety, and 10,495 individuals were trained in CPR and first aid and 16 babysitters in the 2007 operating year. The American Red Cross is all about service!
