LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Hollywood Purse Hook 'Keeps Your Handbag Off The Floor'. It's a seemingly simple claim, but we want to make sure it's hefty enough to hold up to its slogan. Kris Perez is a producer here at KPLC. She spends much of her day here maximizing space for stories, but she's also looking to make the most of her desk space, so she lent us her time and purse. She opened the box to find two purse hooks in a velvet case, one gold and one silver. After reading the instructions, she explains the process.
"The instructions are really easy. They say to just take it, with the non-slip side down, just put it on the edge of the table. Grab your purse and it hands really well. My purse is actually pretty heavy right now and it seems to be holding it just fine. It doesn't have any problems," says Kris.
We moved from the glossy laminate to a glass surface. The purse hook was equally successful with no slips. A traditional wood table top was the next test surface. The Hollywood Purse Hook gripped tightly and held the fifteen to twenty pounds with ease. How about out at the restaurant with a traditional tablecloth covered surface?
Kris explains, "We're going to try it with some fabric on the table and see if it really does hold up on any surface. It looks like it's okay!"
The Hollywood Purse Hook solidly grabbed onto glass, fabric, wood, and glossy laminate tables.
Kris talked about her final feelings by saying, "Overall, I think it works. I would probably use them. I mean for the price, they do what they say they're going to do and be a little more convenient than having this huge bag on my desk. My impression? It works, I like it!"
The Hollywood Purse Hook had no problem supporting a YES for this week's "Does it Work?" test. We picked up the Hollywood Purse Hook for $5.19 plus tax at a local Lake Charles business.
