Reported by: KPLC Staff

Local law enforcement are searching for two suspects believed to be behind a carjacking spree spanning across Calcasieu Parish, from HWY 171 to Shattuck and Mill Streets, to Tom Hebert and Gauthier Roads, to Shell Beach Drive and Lake Street.

Authorities say the incidents began Monday night around 10:30 p.m., ending around 1:50 am Tuesday morning.

The suspects are accused of putting at least one person in the trunk of a car, but the victim managed to get away. The suspects tried to do the same to two more people, an unidentified woman who also managed to get away, and a third victim who wasn't so lucky. He was shot in the back as he tried to escape the suspects' attempt to put him in the trunk of a car. The unidentified man is listed in critical condition.

Authorities say two vehicles have been recovered, a Chevy Caprice and a 2007 Nissan Altima. Authorities are still looking for a blue Ford Explorer with the license plate number, RVW541.

The suspects are described as being in their early 20'S. One had on a black hooded sweatshirt, and the other was seen in a grey hooded shirt. One of them had gold teeth.

If you have any information on these carjackings, you're urged to contact Crimestoppers at 439-2222.
