
A National Safe Route to School event will be held at J.J. Johnson Elementary School on October 8, 2008.
The event will start at the school with an assembly for the students. Following the assembly, students will be escorted to the Foreman-Reynaud Community Center by the Sheriff's Department, Fire Department, Safety Council, Child Injury Prevention, and Safe Kids.
At the community center snacks will be served, and the children will play games emphasizing the Safe Route to School message. Each child will receive a certificate of participation for their involvement with the event.
