Funeral Arrangements for Gustav Victims

7 News has learned the funeral plans for 27-year-old Calcasieu Sheriff's Deputy Eric Bellard and his father Dannis.

Both died in their homes during Hurricane Gustav from carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to a family member, visitation for Eric starts this morning at 10 a.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home on Lake Street. A rosary for him is tonight at 6 p.m. also at Johnson's.

Eric's funeral is at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) at Trinity Baptist Church. We're told there will be a procession, and we'll bring you those details later today.

His father Dannis will be funeralized today at 1 p.m. Viewing starts at 9 a.m. at St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.

    A marsh fire near Grand Chenier in Cameron Parish is believed to be the cause of smoke in the area. Several viewers have reported the smell of smoke and a haze. The same conditions are present near KPLC's office downtown. Dick Gremillion, head of Calcasieu OEP, said that radar is showing what appears to be a marsh fire in Grand Chenier and that wind conditions are favorable to push the smoke into Calcasieu.
