High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest

A Lake Charles man remains in the Allen Parish Jail after taking authorities on a high speed chase.

Reeves police say it happened on Highway 190 Saturday night when 46-year-old Richard Spong was clocked going 62 in a 45 mile per hour zone.

Spong refused to stop and took officers on a 13 mile chase to Kinder before being stopped by road spikes.

Spong was arrested without incident and charged with:DWI fourth offense, aggravated flight from an officer, driving under suspension, driving left of center, speeding, DWI refusal second, and open container.

    By sunset this evening the temperatures will start to go down and rain will come to an end. Overnight we will be left with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Rain chances are down to 20% overnight. On Monday will have rain chances go back down to 30%. The same upper level high pressure will be migrating back south closer to our area and will limit, but not quite eliminate, our rain chances. Rain chances are best in the afternoon.
