Joseph George "Joe" Hannie, 51, formerly of Lake Charles, passed away, Sunday, February 3, 2008 in Kingwood, TX.
Joe was born November 18, 1956 at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of McNeese State University with a degree in Psychology. During his career, he worked for a number of medical facilities in Texas and Louisiana. He also owned a paint and body shop in Largo Vista, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adele Hannie on June 29, 1997 and his father, Dr. George J. Hannie of Lake Charles on January 6, 1998. Joe is survived by his son, Justin Hudgens-Hannie of Dothan, AL; his mother, Rebekah Cornelius Hannie of Lake Charles; five sisters, Becky (Mrs. Frank Bussey of Gorman, TX), Liz (Mrs. Judson J. McCann, Jr.) and Charmayne (Mrs. Pat Crawford) all of Lake Charles, Tara (Mrs. David Holcombe of Humble, TX), and Gena (Mrs. Doyle Evans of Lake Charles); two brothers, Fred Hannie and wife Marie of Lake Charles and George Hannie and wife Mandy of Houston, TX.
He leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews in Lake Charles as well as cousins, aunts, and uncles in Lafayette, LA. All who knew him will miss Joe. His memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 9, 2008 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Doyle Evans will officiate.
