Dr. Jeanine Morris LeJeune

Dr. Jeanine Elizabeth Morris LeJeune, 33, was suddenly called home to Our Lord on February 6, 2008 at a Wilmington, North Carolina hospital.  A native of Lake Charles, she and her husband just recently moved to North Carolina.

"Nini" was born November 13, 1974 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she graduated from St. Louis High School, McNeese State University and Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, where she received her Medical Doctorate.  For the past year preparing to start her internship/residency, she was employed by Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in the Pathology Lab. Jeanine leaves behind her newlywed husband, Marine Corporal Robert Earl LeJeune; her parents, Max and Jackie Morris of Lake Charles; two sisters, Leslie Morris Brown and husband Woody of North Brunswick, New Jersey and Becky Morris Daigle and husband Rodd of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; and brother, Max M. Morris, Jr. and wife Julie of Lake Charles.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanine adored her friends and family and truly was beloved by all who knew her.  She overcame numerous obstacles, from three months premature at birth to fighting Rheumatoid Arthritis for the past 17 years, with a determination and spirit that, with the love of her family and friends achieved a college and medical degree.  Though her and her husband's goals were cut tragically short, she would wish the absolute best for everyone.  A parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, she had a deep love for her church and her faith, and a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Her funeral mass will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Daniel Torres and co-celebrated by Monsignor James Gaddy, Father Rommel Tolentino, Father Joseph McGrath and Father T. L. Herlong.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be in the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM and continue on Monday from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
