Louisiana State Police West District Detectives conducted an investigation regarding Jennings City Police Sgt Jesse Ewing releasing confidential information to a civilian private investigator. The information was relevant to an ongoing investigation being conducted by another police agency.
While investigating Ewing, detectives learned of allegations being made by a female Jennings City Jail inmate that Ewing participated in inappropriate sexual conduct with the female inmate.
Detectives interviewed Ewing regarding the allegations. During the interview, Ewing admitted to obstructing the integrity of an ongoing investigation by giving information to a civilian private investigator and to sexual misconduct with a female inmate.
On December 19, 2007, Ewing surrendered himself to State Police Detectives at the Jennings City Police Department. Ewing was advised of his Miranda Warnings placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail where he was booked in good medical condition without incident. Ewing was released to the custody of JDSO Warden Terrie Guillory.
