CPSO Arrests Man for 2nd Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile

Lake Charles, LA - On December 6th, a two-month old baby boy was transported to a local hospital when he would not wake up and was having difficulty breathing.  It was found the baby had fractures to his skull in two different places.  The baby also had bruises on his lower back, chest, underarms and neck. 

Travis O. Puckett, 19, 5905 Corbina Rd., Lake Charles, confirmed to deputies the injuries to the baby were caused by him.  Puckett is the boyfriend of the mother, and the child was in his care when these injuries occurred. 

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile.

Judge Rick Bryant set his bond at $100,000.

CPSO Detective Patty Bailey is the lead investigator in this case.
