CPSO Arrests Man for Two Burglary & Thefts

From the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles - On December 3rd , the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a local pawn shop in reference to a man trying to sell stolen items.

Deputies arrived and questioned Jeremiah K. Manuel, 26, 2187 E. Gauthier Rd., # 160, Lake Charles, who was trying to sell a pressure washer. The investigation revealed Manuel had committed a burglary that day and stolen the pressure washer and several other items from a house.

Further investigation revealed that Manuel was driving a stolen truck that had been stolen from another house the day before. The truck was returned to the owner.  Deputies also found drugs and a pipe used to smoke drugs on Manuel after his arrest.

During an interview by detectives, Manuel confirmed the two separate incidents of burglary and theft.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of simple burglary; 2 counts of theft under $300; 2 counts of theft over $500; 2 counts of criminal damage to property; possession of CDS Schedule II; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Rick Bryant set his bond at $33,500.
