CPSO ARRESTS WOMAN FOR CRUELTY TO A 2 MONTH OLD BABY
Lake Charles, LA -
On August 22nd, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was called out to a local hospital in regard to a two-month old baby with a head injury. Jasmine E. Stanley, 21, 712 17th St., Lake Charles, stated she had taken her daughter to the hospital because she was unresponsive. Once at the hospital, it was determined the baby had suffered a fracture to the right side of her skull. The baby was then airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans.
Stanley confirmed to detectives she had struck the right side of the baby's head with her hand. She was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile. Judge Bryant set her bond at $30,000.
On August 23rd, after a thorough examination of the baby, the hospital in New Orleans determined in addition to the head injury, the baby had sustained multiple rib fractures, a broken right arm, and a broken left big toe.
Stanley was re-arrested on August 29th and charged with three additional counts of 2nd degree cruelty to juvenile. Judge Rick Bryant set her bond at $30,000 - for a total bond of $60,000 on all charges.
