Ferry Service to Resume in Cameron Parish

The M/V New Roads ferry will be arriving in Cameron today and ferry service will resume at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The Cameron ferry, MV Acadia, could not be repaired locally. Ferry crews were sent to Plaquemine early Wednesday and came back to Cameron aboard the MV New Roads.

    The City of Lake Charles will present their annual Red White Blue & You celebration on Wednesday, July 4, according to Matt Young, spokesman for the city. A parade will begin on Mill Street, traveling down Ryan Street to Dr. Michael Debakey Drive at 6 p.m. Young says Commander Daniel Cost of the Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles will serve as Grand Marshal in the parade.
