GILLIS-Robert Anthony Gaudet, 70, died at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in a local hospital.
He was a native of Sulphur who moved to Gillis in December, 2005. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church of Sulphur and was very involved in the church. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, working in the yard and keeping everything in order at the Gillis Meat Market. He worked at Firestone for 21 years and retired from LBM Office Supplies in November 2001. He accepted Christ as his savior and is free from all fear, pain and worry.
Survivors include his loving wife Judy Gaudet of Gillis, daughters Laura Royer and her husband Larry of Sulphur, Diana Hanchey and her husband Greg of Deridder, Carla Fontenot and her husband Chip of Westlake, and Pamela Abshire and her husband Ray of Sulphur; son Steve Gaudet and his wife Donna Jo of Moss Bluff; grandchildren Dustin, Brittany and Ricky Royer; Christopher, Cody and Collin Hanchey; Ronnie, Robbie and Erin Fontenot; Kasey and Mathew Abshire; Morgan and Sammi Jo Gaudet; and one great granddaughter Ava Royer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roland and Corrine Gaudet.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in Westminster Presbyterian Church of Sulphur. Erich and Leslie Mansell and Brother Lamar Huffman will officiate. Burial will be in Ritchie Cemetery of Moss Bluff under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 5-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
