SUMMARY:  AUTHORITY TO RENEW, LEVY AND COLLECT A 10-YEAR SALES AND USE TAX TO BE DEDICATED, 65% FOR STREET MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION, SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION, AND STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION, AND/OR SEWERAGE TREATMENT FACILITIES, SEWER SYSTEM, PUMPS AND SEWER LINES MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION; AND 35% FOR GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND GENERAL FUND NEEDS.

Shall the Town of Iowa, through its Mayor and Council Members, be authorized to continue to levy and collect a tax of one percent (1%) (the "Tax"), previously authorized at an election held on May 3, 1997, for an additional period of ten (10) years from the termination of its current authorization (through June 30, 2017) upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption and storage for use or consumption of tangible personal property and on sales of services in said District, all as defined in La. R.S. 47:301 through 47:317, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax), to be dedicated and used for the following purposes:  (1) Sixty-five percent (65%) of the avails of said tax shall be used for street maintenance and construction; sidewalk maintenance and construction; and street lighting maintenance and construction, and/or sewerage treatment facilities, sewer system, pumps and sewer lines maintenance and construction; and (2) Thirty-five percent (35%) of the avails of said tax shall be used for general administrative and general fund needs?

SUMMARY:  CONTINUATION OF A 5.05 MILL PROPERTY TAX FOR WARD ONE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NUMBER ONE RUNNING FOR A PERIOD OF TEN (10) YEARS BEGINNING WITH AND INCLUDING THE YEAR 2007 TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING AND OPERATION THE DISTRICT'S FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES AND PAYING THE COST OF OBTAINING WATER FOR FIRE PROTECTION PURPOSES, INCLUDING CHARGES FOR FIRE HYDRANT RENTALS AND SERVICE, THE COST OF PURCHASING, IMPROVING OR CONSTRUCTING FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES OF THE DISTRICT CONSTITUTING WORKS OF PERMANENT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TITLE TO WHICH SHALL BE IN THE PUBLIC.

Shall Ward One Fire Protection District Number One of Calcasieu Parish Louisiana (the "District") be authorized to continue to levy and collect a tax of Five and Five-Hundredths (5.05) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District for a period of ten (10) years beginning with and including the year 2007 for the purposes of maintaining and operating the District's fire protection facilities and paying the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes, including charges for fire hydrant rentals and service, and for the purpose of paying the cost of purchasing, improving or constructing fire protection facilities of the District constituting works of permanent public improvement, title to which shall be in the public?
