Wanda McGuire Morgan, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in a local hospital, a few hours shy of celebrating her 78th birthday.
She was born in Okmulgee, OK and she lived in Lake Charles since 1946. She moved from Oklahoma to Conway, Ark. where she graduated from Conway High School.
While working at South Central Bell, she met and married J.D. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past December. Mrs. Morgan attended University United Methodist Church where she was a member of United Methodist Women, Stone Rollers Bible Class and was a past Sunday School Teacher for the four year olds.
Survivors include her husband John D. (J.D.) Morgan of Lake Charles; one son, Randy Morgan and wife Tammi of Lake Charles; one daughter, Becky Hebert and husband Danny of New Iberia; two brothers, Eugene McGuire of Tulsa, OK, Harold McGuire of Sulphur, LA and 5 grandchildren, Allyson Blackwell, Brittany Blackwell, Dustin Brock, Tristan Morgan, and Randi Paige Morgan all of Lake Charles.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Mike McLaurin and Rev. Steve Caraway will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
