Addie Amelia Gow

Addie Amelia Gow, 98, died on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at a local hospital.

She was a descendant from Glasgow, Scotland, born in Crowley, LA and lived in Lake Charles for fifty seven years. She worked for the Charleston Hotel, and was a Methodist. She had a zest for life and was an inspiration to her family, by her determination and independence.

She is survived by one son, J. A."Cowboy" Wilder, III of Opelousas. Two daughters Patricia Jane Arceneaux of Sulphur and Billy Jean Rice of Sumpter, SC. One brother, Robert Charles Gow of Lake Charles. Nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son, Charles David Wilder.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles with Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
