TDL: Two-A-Days - Kinder Yellow Jackets

KINDER, LA (KPLC) - Kinder has been a staple at the top of both Southwest Louisiana and Class 2A in recent seasons, but will culture prevail over the team's inexperience?

"We're starting fresh here.," said Kinder coach Bret Fuselier. "Every day you be consistent about getting better every day and that's what this is all about."
The Yellow Jackets were all set to make it to the dome last season until Welsh knocked them out in the quarterfinals. Coming into the new season, Kinder has to replace key talent like defensive lineman Joey McNeely and linebacker Jordan Cordova.
"We had a big senior class," admitted Fuselier. "We lost quite a few kids, but I know I have a bunch of kids behind me that are ready to step up and fill their shoes."

"I'm confident, I think everyone is ready to step up," said quarterback Hayes Fawcett. "It's going to be a good year."
Kinder is used to having success and high expectations, but this season should test the Jackets. Kinder isn't bringing back much experience, but they do return junior quarterback Hayes Fawcett.
"He can throw the ball really well. He's been working with our receivers this summer and they look like they are getting better," said Fuselier.
"He's also athletic enough to pull the ball in our option game and make some big things happen."
"He's matured a lot since he started playing his freshman year. He makes good decisions," Kinder safety/receiver Matthew Robertson said. "I'm excited for him to be throwing me the ball."
"I'm ready to just go back out there and play," Hayes admitted. "Having the experience from last year, I feel like the games going to slow down for me and I'll be a lot more confident."

On defense, it'll be trial by fire for the Jackets as the team breaks in numerous new starters.
"We're going to be young on defense," Fuselier said. "We have a lot of question marks, but the good thing is that the guys who will answers those questions are very capable."

Kinder may not be the favorite in the district, but the Jackets have proven numerous times before- they don't rebuild, they reload.
