A.J. Giardina poses for a picture with Shuckers outfielder Troy Stokes Junior after throwing a ceremonial first pitch (WLOX Sports)
BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
A.J. Giardina may be done with is broadcasting career, but he still has a few throws left in the 'ole cannon.
The Biloxi Shuckers honored the recently-retired WLOX legend before their Friday contest against Tennessee, showing a tribute video on the jumbotron honoring his 39 years covering South Mississippi, and with a ceremonial first pitch.
You can see for yourself in the video, but A.J. threw a nice strike!
"I did throw it down the middle, which, I was surprised, but practice does make perfect," the former WLOX Sports Director said with a smile.
When asked if maybe a baseball career is now in the books?
"Let's put it this way, only in my dreams," Giardina laughed. "There's no way!"
