BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

An LSU student is thanking former Tigers running backs Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice after the two professional football players paid for her tuition.

Jhané Garner, a native of New Orleans, ran out of support from TOPS to pay for her senior year of college.

So she started a GoFundMe account in hopes of receiving help to pay for the $11,000 in tuition expenses.

Guice, who was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, learned about Garner’s campaign on Twitter. He donated $1,000 to the fund and retweeted the cause to his nearly 90,000 Twitter followers.

Fournette, who is now in his second year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, also saw the tweet and paid off the remaining costs of Garner’s tuition.

Garner told WAFB she was so overcome with emotion when she saw the tweet during that her supervisors at Lit Pizza sent her home.

“I couldn’t stop crying,” she said.

Garner is grateful for all the help she has received in accomplishing her goal of finishing at LSU.

“Words can’t even explain how much I appreciation I have for everyone who helped me,” she said.
