SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

Power is being restored in Southwest Louisiana.

While 6,500 were without power following the line of storms that roared through the area Thursday morning, less than 1,000 were without power as of 5:30 p.m.

There are still 366 Entergy customers without power in Calcasieu and 594 BECi customers without power.

Around 300 of those without power in Calcasieu are in the Moss Bluff area.

BECi had 434 customers without power in Allen - 269 in the Kinder area, which was hard hit.

UPDATED 3:40 p.m.

Entergy reports that 549 in Calcasieu and 75 in Jeff Davis are without power.

BECi is reporting 1,997 without power as of 3:40 p.m.

There are 1,192 without power in Vernon Parish, 646 without power in Allen, 51 without power in Beauregard, 1 without power in Calcasieu, and 17 without power in Jeff Davis.

Entergy reports that 923 in Calcasieu and 120 in Jeff Davis are without power.

BECi is reporting 2,405 without power as of 1:50 p.m.

There are 1,204 without power in Vernon Parish, 940 without power in Allen, 79 without power in Beauregard, 24 without power in Calcasieu, and 14 without power in Jeff Davis.

UPDATED 9:30 a.m.

Many of those are in the Vinton area, where more than 750 Entergy customers are without electricity.

Entergy reports that 2,402 in Calcasieu are without power, 369 in Jeff Davis, 88 in Allen and 31 in Cameron.

BECi is reporting 4,125 without power as of 8:20 a.m.

There are 1,533 BECi customers without power in Vernon Parish, 1,508 without power in Allen, 537 in Calcasieu, 261 in Beauregard and 219 in Jeff Davis.

    Lake Charles police officers are searching for a man whom they say ran after crashing his vehicle into a ditch on Henderson Bayou Road. Lt. Kevin Kirkum said the crash was a single-vehicle accident. Henderson Bayou Road runs along the south side of Prien Lake Park. A witness said the man was driving erratically, driving onto the sidewalks at the park before crossing the bridge over the bayou and crashing the vehicle.
