HAPPENING TODAY: Free reception from the 'Lake Area Beekeepers Club'

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lake Charles residents can learn more about bees and beekeeping Thursday, March 1. 
The "Lake Area Beekeepers Club" will be hosting a reception about the importance of bees and the basics of beekeeping. 
The program is free and starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Library on West Claude St. in Lake Charles.

    An accident involving an 18-wheeler on I-10 westbound just east of the U.S. 171 exit is causing traffic to back up, according to the Lake Charles Police Department. The inside lane is blocked.     The United States Coast Guard is searching for a 55-year-old man who reportedly fell overboard approximately 100 miles south of Cameron Monday morning, according to the USCG 8th District Public Affairs Detachment in Texas.
