Iris, Tucks parades moved to earlier start times

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The Krewe of Iris has rescheduled their parade to an earlier time Saturday. 

According to The Iris Facebook page, the parade will now roll Uptown at 10 a.m. Saturday. The parade was originally set to roll at 11 a.m.

According to Lloyd Frischhertz, Captain of the Krewe of Tucks, the Tucks parade will roll immediately after Iris at 11 a.m. 

Rain is in the forecast from Friday into Mardi Gras day. 

Jefferson Parish announced no parade schedules would be made, and Endymion is set to roll rain or shine Saturday at 4:15 p.m.

    The company planning to build townhouses in the 1300 block of Country Club Road has withdrawn its request to change the traffic plan for the development. Inman Park Investments wanted to route traffic from the Townhouses down Stanley road and through a residential neighborhood.   That was a plan existing residents opposed.  So, the issue will not be taken up at the Lake Charles City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 15.  No word yet on what that mea...More >>
