Calcasieu Parish Police Jury to take survey of homelessness in area

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

Calcasieu Parish volunteers will be working to get a better understanding of the number of people in our area dealing with homelessness.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Human Services Department is taking its annual "point in time" count on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Outreach teams will be heading to areas where they believe to be a lot of homeless people.

The survey is also asking agencies who provide any kind of housing to the homeless to take part and share information about the number of people they serve.
