Rock legend Joan Jett to perform in Lake Charles

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will perform in the Grand Event Center of Golden Nugget Lake Charles at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24. 

Jett is best known for her hit, “I Love Rock ‘n” Roll”, which held the No. 1 spot from March 20 to May 1, 1982. The melody for her song "I Hate Myself for Loving You" was used until the 2016 season as the theme music for NBC Sunday Night Football with re-worked lyrics and retitled "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

Some of her other hits include: “Crimson and Clover," “Light of Day,” “Love is All Around” and “Bad Reputation.” Known as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll and the Godmother of Punk, Jett was a 2015 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 26, with prices starting at $45, available online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone through Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000.  Tickets can also be purchased at the Golden Nugget Box Office which is open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours on concert days.
