NOPD: Man killed, woman injured in Central City double shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double shooting in Central City that left a man dead and a woman injured.

Police reported the shooting just after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of South Claiborne Avenue and First Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male suffering from gunshot wounds to the face, arms and legs. They also found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds to the back. Police say both of the victims are in their early 20s.

The victims were taken to a local hospital, and NOPD later tweeted that the man had died.
