THE LIST: Weather-related closing and cancellations

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The following weather-related closings and cancellations have been announced because of wintry weather.

  • BERKELEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Berkeley County School District students will return to school Wednesday on a normal schedule. BCSD employees are to report at their regular time. School bus pick up and parent drop-off will operate on a normal schedule, and we ask that a parent or guardian accompany young children to the bus stops in anticipation of possible delays. Before-school and after-school care programs will operate on their normal schedule Wednesday. Athletics and extracurricular activities will also all resume their normal schedule. 
  • CHARLESTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Schools will open on a regular schedule Wednesday.
  • COLLETON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Schools return to a regular schedule Wednesday. 
  • DORCHESTER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 2: Schools will open on a regular schedule Wednesday.
  • DORCHESTER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 4: Schools are open on a regular schedule Wednesday.
  • GEORGETOWN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Schools will open on a regular schedule Wednesday.
  • WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT:  Operating on a two-hour delay on Tuesday.

This list will be updated as additional school districts or businesses announce changes to their operating hours. Check back often for updates.

  • BERKELEY INDUSTRIES IN MONCKS CORNER: Closed Tuesday.?
  • CHARLESTON COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING: Has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a future time.
  • CHARLESTON COUNTY PARKS: All Charleston County Parks and facilities reopen to the public on Tuesday with the exception of the following: Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park Mount Pleasant Pier
  • CHARLESTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT: All Charleston County schools will return to a normal schedule Wednesday
  • CHARLESTON DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY: Students will return on Tuesday.
  • DORCHESTER DISTRICT TWO: All DD2 school will resume a normal schedule for students and teachers Wednesday
  • FIRST BAPTIST SCHOOL OF CHARLESTON: Will resume classes at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
  • ROUMILLAT'S ANTIQUES & AUCTION: The auction scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until Jan. 13.
  • TRIDENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE: Classes scheduled for Tuesday, will be held as scheduled.

    Authorities with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating after receiving a tip that a body of a person missing for more than a decade may be buried in a field behind the EZ Mart on La. 12 in Starks.
